Dr. Thomas Ravens

Tom is the Principal Investigator of the Arctic Coastal Risk Network. He is a professor of Civil Engineering focusing on Arctic coastal erosion, flooding, and the impact of climate change.

Dr. Nelta Edwards

University of Alaska Anchorage

Nelta is Co-principal investigator and Professor of Sociology with a background in Economics. She teaches in UAA’s Sociology Department and her research focuses on environmental  justice. Nelta has worked with indigenous communities of Western Alaska.

Dr. Tobias Schwoerer

University of Alaska Anchorage

Toby is the Co-principal investigator and a research professional at UAA’s Institute of Social and Economic Research. With a diverse background in economics and the natural sciences, his research focuses on human dimensions of sustainable systems. He directs science communications and coordinates network engagement.

Jacquelyn R. Overbeck

ADNR Division of Geological & geophysical Surveys

Jaci is the project manager for the Coastal Hazards Program where she investigates Alaska’s coastline, how it has evolved, and how it will respond to hazardous events and long-term change. She specializes in rural Alaska field investigations, remote sensing techniques, and hydro-morphodynamic coastal modeling. She serves on the steering committee.

Dr. Kevin Berry

University of Alaska Anchorage

Kevin is Co-principal investigator and Assistant Professor of Economics at UAA’s Institute of Social and Economic Research. His research interests include social-ecological systems, bio-economic modeling, and applied econometrics. His research is focused on how people respond to environmental risk, including how they adapt and prevent costly events.

Dr. Davin Holen

Alaska Sea Grant

Davin is the Alaska Sea Grant Coastal Community Resilience Specialist. In that position, Davin provides expertise, research, and extension services that enhance the culture and well-being of coastal communities across Alaska. He serves on the steering committee.
